Office Meeting Table
A 2200 × 1100 mm table for a meeting room, 750 mm high. The top is boat shaped, the long edges bowing outward at the middle and tapering toward the ends, and it stands on two panel legs with a modesty panel between them. Made in Turkey in melamine-faced decors.
The boat shaped top
Both long edges bow outward at the middle and taper back in toward the ends, so the table is at its widest across the center and narrows at each tip. This is not a rectangle with rounded corners and it is not an oval. The bow is wide enough to read at a glance from across a room, and it is what gives everyone at the table a sight line to everyone else.
The top is 36 mm finished, built from two 18 mm boards laminated together rather than from one thick board. PVC edge banding at 1 mm follows the curve all the way around, which is why the profile stays the same on the bowed edges and on the tapered ends.
The legs and the modesty panel
The table stands on two panel ends rather than on posts or a trestle. Each is 18 mm board running the full height to the floor, and both sit well inboard from the tips of the top, so nobody sitting at either end has a leg in the way. A modesty panel in 18 mm board spans between them and sits back from the front edge.
On the outer face of each leg panel sit applied 18 mm strips. They are a decorative detail rather than structure, and they read as a vertical band down the middle of the panel. The set in the photographs has them in black against a wood decor. Any decor can be specified, so the strips can match the top or stand against it.
Colors and finishes
The table comes in melamine-faced chipboard and melamine-faced MDF decors, with any decor on request. Color comes from the decor rather than from a paint reference, so there is no fixed decor set the way our steel range has its 12 standard RAL colors. Send us a decor code, a photo, or a physical sample, and we find the closest available match. What we can match depends on what the board supplier holds at the time of the order.
The top, the leg panels, the applied strips, and the modesty panel are each specified separately, so a contrasting strip like the black one shown is a decor choice rather than a different build.
